The development of ball valve

The ball valve came out in the 1950s. Ball valve introduction

The ball valve is mainly used to cut off or connect the medium in the pipeline, and can also be used for the regulation and control of the fluid. Among them, the hard-sealed V-type ball valve has a strong bond between the V-shaped ball core and the metal valve seat of the surfacing carbide. Shear force, especially suitable for media containing fibers and tiny solid particles. The multi-way ball valve can not only flexibly control the confluence, diversion, and flow direction switching of the medium on the pipeline, but also close any channel and connect the other two channels. The role of the ball valve

It has the action of rotating 90 degrees. The cock body is a sphere with a circular through hole or channel passing through its axis. The ball valve is mainly used to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium in the pipeline. It only needs to be rotated 90 degrees and a small rotational torque can be closed tightly. Ball valves are most suitable for on-off and shut-off valves, V-type ball valves.

Ball valve advantages

1. The fluid resistance is small, and the full-bore ball valve basically has no flow resistance.

3. Tight and reliable. It has two sealing surfaces, and the sealing surface materials of the ball valve are widely used in various plastics, which have good sealing performance and can achieve complete sealing. It has also been widely used in vacuum systems.

4. Easy to operate, fast opening and closing, only need to rotate 90° from fully open to fully closed, which is convenient for long-distance control.

5. The maintenance is convenient, the structure of the ball valve is simple, the sealing ring is generally movable, and it is convenient to disassemble and replace.

6. When fully open or fully closed, the sealing surface of the ball and the valve seat is isolated from the medium, and when the medium passes through, it will not cause erosion of the valve sealing surface.

7. It has a wide range of applications, with a diameter ranging from a few millimeters to a few meters, and can be applied from high vacuum to high pressure.

8. Since the ball valve has wiping properties during the opening and closing process, it can be used in the medium with suspended solid particles.

The ball valve not only has simple structure and good sealing performance, but also has small volume, light weight, less material consumption, small installation size, small driving torque, easy operation and quick opening and closing within a certain nominal diameter range. One of the fastest growing valve varieties in the past ten years. The ball valve is evolved from the plug valve. Its opening and closing part is a sphere, and the sphere is rotated 90° around the axis of the valve stem to achieve the purpose of opening and closing. The ball valve is mainly used to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium on the pipeline, and the ball valve designed with a V-shaped opening also has a good flow regulation function.

Especially in industrialized countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, ball valves are widely used, and the variety and quantity of use are still expanding, and they are developing to high temperature, high pressure, large diameter, high sealing, long Longevity, excellent regulation performance and the development of one valve with multiple functions, its reliability and other performance indicators have reached a relatively high level, and it has partially replaced gate valves, globe valves and throttle valves. With the technological advancement of ball valves, there will be wider applications in the foreseeable short period of time, especially on oil and gas pipelines, refinery crackers and nuclear industries. In addition, ball valves will also become one of the leading valve types in large and medium caliber, medium and low pressure fields in other industries.
