1. Only after confirming that the upstream and downstream pipelines of the ball valve have been relieved of pressure, can the disassembly and decomposition operations be carried out.
2. When disassembling and reassembling, care must be taken to prevent damage to the sealing surface of the parts, especially non-metallic parts. Special tools should be used when removing the O-ring.
3. The bolts on the flange must be symmetrically, gradually and evenly tightened during assembly.
4. The cleaning agent should be compatible with rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts, and working medium (such as gas) in the ball valve. When the working medium is fuel gas, metal parts can be cleaned with gasoline. Clean nonmetal parts with pure water or alcohol.
5. The disassembled individual parts can be cleaned by dipping. Metal parts with non-decomposed non-metal parts can be scrubbed with a clean and fine silk cloth impregnated with a cleaning agent (to prevent fibers from falling off and sticking to the parts). When cleaning, all grease, dirt, glue, dust, etc. adhering to the wall must be removed.
6. Non-metal parts should be taken out of the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning, and should not be soaked for a long time.
7. After cleaning, it needs to be assembled after the wall cleaning agent volatilizes (can be wiped with silk cloth not soaked in cleaning agent), but it should not be left for a long time, otherwise, it will rust and be contaminated by dust.
8. New parts also need to be cleaned before assembly.
9. Lubricate with grease. Grease should be compatible with ball valve metal materials, rubber parts, plastic parts, and working media. When the working medium is gas, for example, special 221 greases can be used. Apply a thin layer of grease to the surface of the seal mounting groove, apply a thin layer of grease to the rubber seal, and apply a thin layer of grease to the sealing surface and friction surface of the valve stem.
10. During assembly, metal debris, fibers, grease (except those specified for use), dust and other impurities, foreign objects, etc. shall not be allowed to contaminate, adhere or stay on the surface of the parts or enter the inner cavity.

Stem packing or O-ring seals and external parts can be replaced on the pipeline without removing the valve from the pipeline. The breakdown order is described as follows according to different drive devices:
1. Ball valve with handle
Packing replacement:
(1) Close the shut-off valves upstream and downstream of the ball valve. Bleed to relieve the pressure in the pipeline before and after the ball valve.
(2) Keep the ball valve fully closed.
(3) Unscrew the nut and remove the washer, wrench head and handle.
(4) Unscrew the nut and remove the spring washer, stem stopper, and packing gland.
(5) Take out the packing.
(6) Check the removed parts, repair or replace if damaged, and clean all parts.
(7) Scrub and lubricate the stuffing box sealing surface.
(8) Insert new packing.
(9) Install the packing gland, stem stopper, and spring washer in the reverse order of disassembly, and secure the above parts with a nut.
(10) Reinstall the wrench head and handle, install the washer, and fasten with nuts.
(11) Operate the handle to check the opening and closing flexibility of the ball valve.
(12) Airtightness test.
2. Ball valve with gearbox
Packing replacement:
(1) Close the shut-off valves upstream and downstream of the ball valve. Bleed to relieve the pressure in the pipeline before and after the ball valve.
(2) Keep the ball valve fully closed.
(3) Remove the screws and remove the gearbox.
(4) Remove the screws and remove the driver flange.
(5) Unscrew the nut, remove the spring washer and packing gland, and remove the packing.
(6) Check the removed parts, repair or replace if damaged, and clean all parts.
(7) Clean and lubricate the packing box sealing surface.
(8) Insert new packing.
(9) Install the packing gland and spring washer in the reverse order of disassembly, and fasten the above parts with nuts. Then install the driver flange and fasten it with screws.
